BL-Touch on Ender 5 Plus

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ve given up and a friend has offered to come over to look at it.

I’ll update this thread next week.

Still working through it. Figured out that ‘Auto home’ saves the settings

Glad you are making progress!

Keep me updated,
Matthew

Hi Ron

Depending on the version of the firmware you are using it actually does not use the M851 therefore will not save a Z-offset or baby step.

I Changed mine out to the Tiny Machines firmware and use it. There are other issues with it but the baby stepping works well.

The final alternative to it is to change the screen out to a TH3D old-style REPRAP 16848 screen and use the firmware configured for it. They have a pretty good Kit with a printed screen mount and firmware that works well. you lose the touch screen but gain other functionality.

I’ve had 2 3D printing enthusiast friends come over on separate occasions to no avail. I appreciate all your suggestions but they are above my skill level. I’ll just bite the bullet and bring it into the shop.

Thanks again.

When is a good day to come in to the shop talk to you about potential upgrades?

I may be late to the game here… I used the stock firmware on my Ender 5 plus for a very short time and I remember having to start a print, pause it, then go to the settings/levelling screen adjust the z and then hit the home to save. I ditched the stock firmware pretty much as soon as I got the printer so I am going by memory.
