Printing small gears

The best way I’ve found to avoid elephant feet is to chamfer the bottom perimeter by 0.5mm.

The image above probably isn’t the best one to illustrate the point (but I had it handy as I’m writing this) but should hopefully give you an idea.

Now I know that your teeth are probably too small to take this approach literally, but there might be something you can do here with a minimal cantilever that will give you a good quality print and be somewhat insensitive for the need of the Z height offset to be nuts on perfect.

I do that too on occasion. I have been printing quite critical parts lately so I have the z height dials as fine as I can manage so I don’t get it. Typically I like a touch more squish.
