Picked up a Creality K1 max from 3D Printing Canada yesterday. 300mm/sec Benchy and calibration cube in PLA (hyper). Using Creality slicer for now but will work on a Cura profile and use a work-around to bust into the Klipper host so I can use Mainsail and have access to the config files. Overall I am pretty impressed with this rig… and it is faaassst… though, I’ll probably have it torn apart soon…
I just received one the other day too, and I am impressed.
I printed the squiggle test file and at 600mm/s plus quality, excellent machine.
Able to use Fliudd now. I got Mainsail to work but without the webcam. I would like to get mainsail and ocoeverywhere running. Currently have to use Creality cloud.
I have Printed with PLA, TPU, PETG and ABS with very good results.
I really like the look of the K1, but what turns me off is the APP. I assume you can use it without the APP at all?
I do all my printing off-line, so I would be interested if you can just bypass the APP completely.
Yeah you can use it without the app, just load all your files on to a usb stick and your good to go!
I too can’t stand the app, it feels like a fever dream whenever I use it. I really hope if they are going to be switching into using apps for their printers they will clean it up or make a new app specifically for printers.

That is why I applied an exploit to get Klipper root access - I prefer using the Fluidd or Mainsail interface with klipper as opposed to the Creality one. I can now modify the printer.cfg and add/modify macros. I will say that the printer is excellent out of the box using creality slicer and printing direct from the slicer.
Are you willing to share the steps / files you have used to go to full Klipper on the K1.
I have one and would prefer the full version, I modified my CR10S Pro to go to Klipper ( with help from a friend).
Check out this Reddit thread. Read through it. The pre-rooted firmware file is linked there. K1 and K1 Max pre-rooted firmware images : crealityk1 (reddit.com)

Copy the file onto a thumb drive and put the thumb drive into the usb port while the printer is ON. Don’t turn the printer off.
Thanks for the info, seems like a simple procedure.
