3d printed base for printer

I was wondering, aside from size, why are printer bases or frames not just printed?

Example… I have a Prusa MK2 and some parts are printed and assembled with threaded rods. Why weren’t the bases printed in 2 parts and screwed together with all other related components attached to the same base?

In the olden days, they were Printed or Laser cut from wood layers.

I’m Guessing with Mass Volume, it’s cheaper to injection mold them.

Then When More Strength is needed people swap to Aluminium Extrusion Frames.

I think it’s a simple answer, rigidity. Movement creates deflection. deflected decreases with metal frames and injection molded parts.
