I researched about the best laser printer for the past few days because I need one for office and home use. I read reviews on The New York Times (Wirecutter), Consumer Reports, and PCMag, and they are marking these two as the best:
However, I am having trouble deciding which one would best suit my needs and need your expert advice. In my home/office, I usually print documents, reports, assignments, invoices, and sometimes color brochures and images. I need fast printing speed, low toner cost, good print quality, and WiFi connectivity for multiple devices.
So which one should I buy? Any recommendation will be appreciated.
This is a no brainer for me. Tired of replacing ink cartridges for inkjet printers, I bought a Brother laser (monochrome) about four years ago. It functions flawlessly ! Comes with a (partially filled) cartridge that will make about 1200 prints. I bought a replacement cartridge after mine ran out. It will do over 3000 and cost about $60. Brother is the most dependable printer I’ve ever used. Can connect by WiFi or hardwiring. If you must have color, they make color laser printers but they are much higher. I got the printer (scans and makes copies also) for about $150 at Walmart. Hope this helps.
I also have a Brother Laser printer, very good and reliable but I get my cartridges (large capacity) for less than $20CDN plus shipping, in a two pack online. There are cheaper ones on Amazon (I can’t say to the quality of these) and free shipping if you have Prime. They actually print better then the Brother branded one that came with the printer. Basically get one that has after market refills, “BIG PRINTER” ink/toner is a ripoff. Check your printer toner availability with sites like these. There are others.
P.S. A lot of Brother printers have a two piece toner cartridge and only the toner container itself needs to be replaced, the actual cartridge is good for about 10K of printers so that saves some money on refills.

I didn’t notice this before when i was poking in my other post, but looking for similarities now, tim09, jahim and now zabi’s links go thru this service
Either way it feels a bit shady to show a full amazon URL but have it be to a redirect service…
