I came back to my printer with this massive blob of pla and I cannot get it out. It’s really on there. Any suggestions, I’ve been chipping away at this for a week.
Heat! maybe soften it with a hair dryer or a hot air gun.
I have been. It’s wrapped up on the wires, so I’m afraid of how much heat to apply. I had the entire ball on fire for a brief moment.
OK, on fire is to much heat. You need just enough to soften it and try and pry it off, not much else you can do unless someone else has a suggestion. Maybe a chemical solution will soften it enough. That is the blob from hell, some kind off record maybe.
Doesn’t work
Yes it’s tangled and cannot come loose.
Replace the heat block and heat cartridge , thermistor. Maybe the break too. It is easier than messing with it. Nozzle too. The chance of it all working once free isn’t great anyway.
i ran into this scenario with my old as400, worse than yours; much consultation with the flsun techs and we agreed that even if i could get all the goo off, the sleveing on the wires would be toast; i replaced everything;
no one ever ventured a guess as to how that happened, thankfully only once; maybe some sort of hot-end leak
