Hi guys, I am new to 3D printing, and I was wondering if I would even be able to 3D print something like this? As you can see, there is no flat side to print on, so I was wondering if the 3D printers I have access to can still print it even though it curves in. I have access to the Original Prusa i3 MK3 (S/S+) and the Creality Ender-3. If I am able to print it, which printer should I print on, how should I orient it, and what settings should I choose?
It is printable. Would use the Prusa.
Orientation on the bed is dependent on what surfaces you want the cleanest.
Personally I would try it with the view of the second picture facing the bed.
Depending on what you are printing with will determine your settings but would use PETG, ABS or ASA, looks like a mount of some kind.
Prusa they generally are more reliable and consistent.
The part is going to need a ton of support. the orientation will depend of the why it is used. The ‘arms’ up or down will not have a lot of strength and printed vertical it will not have strength top to bottom. I would be tempted to print at 45º but that is even more support. I personally would split it at the top of the arms and print the trigger angle part on its back and the cum arm part on the cut. You can embed tabs to increase strength at the joint. It is easy in Prusa slicer it is automatic.
