Hi there,

What printer are you using? It also seems that your image did not send correctly.

Anycubic kobra 2 max.

Seems like the first layers only hold for a certaim amount of time and then the edges curl up and it lwts go of the bed

Please immediately stop printing ABS on this machine!!!

ABS is a carcinogen as it releases styrene fumes which accumulate in your bloodstream. Believe me, as someone who has had ABS poisoning a few too many times in his life, it is really not fun.

The reason that your print is warping is that as ABS cools it polymer will contract which causes the print to start to warp. This is why enclosures are used, if you can heat up the air around the part it will cool down very slow and will not warp. The enclosure also helps to keep you safe while you print the material.

I would highly recommend not re-printing using this material until you get a proper enclosure for the machine!

Sounds good, didnt know that about abs. Im looking to get a bamboo or creality soon. Im not juatbdoing abs but would like to start doing multi color prints. Or maybe a another brand. I was thinking somwthing around an 8 inch bed or so. Do you have any recommendations to look into?

The K1C might be a good printer for you, the print area is around 8.5 inches. Currently there is not a multicolor unit for this machine but it is set to come out within the next couple of months as an upgrade. From what I have heard the price is going to be around $250 but I am not entirely sure what it will run.

I have printed most materials on the K1C now and it handled them all like a champ! I am sure you will have no issues with printing anything from PLA to ABS on it!

Awesome… thank you, ill look into it

I am wondering why you are using ABS. I use PETG for my prints, for commercial products, and it works very well, very little warping, no issues with dangerous smell. I use the K1 MAX, so if you don’t need the space, the K1C will no doubt be a great machine for you.

I wanna start doing multicolor prints also. Is there a printer comparable to the k1c?

The K1 MAX is just a bigger version of the K1C. I would not use either for multi-color, Too much time changing filament colors.

The K2 MAX is supposed to offer the ability to handle multiple colors. I “assume” this also means auto mount and unmount, but maybe not. I don’t see any automatic color printer below $50K. You have to switch each time a different color is required.

The Bambu’s offer a filament changing tool, but personally I really am not a fan of Bambulab Printers.

Creality will be coming out with a very similar CMS unit for their machines, it will be compatible with the K1C as an upgrade kit and it is set to be coming out within the next couple of months!

If I wanted to buy a multi colour printer, I would get a Prusa XL with multiple tool heads. Prusa has a stellar reputation, and their multi material system doesn’t involve the crazy amount of waste that the Bambu system does. Also, Prusa tends to thoroughly work the bugs out of their machines before bringing them to market. Can’t really say that for Creality or Bambu.

And yes, I really said that as someone who owns two Ender 3s, and no Prusas.

I totally agree,

I have always been a huge fan of idex and toolchanger systems as the waste generated by single extruder setups always makes me feel bad.

If only I had the budget…
