Core X-Y Shake, shimmy and roll

Any one that has a core x-y printer knows that when they print they vibrate like one of those dashboard hula girl figurines when driving over a bumpy road. This is mostly because of the speed they print at and the shifting direction changes, it doesn’t seem to affect the print quality. My printer is on a glass topped computer desk, not the best choice, which has two steel bars running from side to side to support everything. I drew up these desk “clamps” and mounted three of them on the desk. They hook onto the bars under the table top and draw the desk tight to the wall and the printing vibration and shakes has been drastically reduced. So the moral of the story is if your printer is mounted on a flimsy base try securing it to a wall or other large mass.

Neat idea.

Bambu Lab machines have an addon called anti vibration feet. I wondering if this could be modded for other brands of machines: Bambu Lab Anti-Vibration Feet

I doubt they can be modded directly but the basic design can probably be reworked and printed in TPU for different printers.

The K1MAx , maybe all the K1’s, come with rubber add-on anti vibration feet. There are many anti-vibration mods that can be downloaded from various model sites. That being said most don’t seem to make a lot of difference.
