caution; you can calculate all the e-steps you want but you wont be able to change printer.cfg thru the supplied menus;
printer bought 2 weeks ago (thailand);
it doesnt work as some you-tube videos suggest; the menu options just are not there;
all i think you can do is adjust the flow rate in the slicers;
mine was 3.5 % underextruding;
pitiful really, had i known this before i bought this, i would have opted for the bamboo lab a1; which i still will get due to their industry-revelation hot-end and nozzle replacement system;
that has been an area for a long time that industry engineers have neglected;
more dominant chinese 3d printing mindset; just market and sell,sell,sell; no QA;
and work on the next model…
I have a P1s I got it before Christmas. I’m still on the fence. It prints well and quickly, not my fastest but no slouch.
I really wants its own filaments. Yes you can use third party ones but you need to fuss with it. The nozzle changes are ok the Prusa is way faster that way.
I am fairly happy with it although the ams is twitchy by times. Again third party filaments it works far better with its own. Many of the filaments I use the most are cardboard rolls and they are a pain. My second favorite are too tall and wide.
You have had so many issues I hope you find something reliable. I think you have described the attitude of many orients brands. They relied upon community engagement to do Rand d and support. Bambu support is ok not great.
Hi, the hype on youtube pointed to this printer being perfect for the beginer and mid level user.
Bought mine just over a month ago, within days I got and error code that Creality pointed to a touch problem and it needing to be replaced, I was not prepared to wait 3 weeks for one to arrive from China under the warrenty so bought one via Amazon, easy install… 3 days later - same code, so looked at it and found it was due to the wires to it getting hot sorted it by re-routing away from the hot end.
Low and be hold 2 weeks of not a problem, great prints - then left it overnight to come back to blob of death, not a problem as the hot ends are not exorbitantly priced,. but what had also happened is it had taken out the hot end fan and the pcb header board.
As you say - they just want to sell sell sell - try getting a KE header pcb board anywhere inside of Europe or the UK is impossible - they wanted to charge me for a new one plus delivery - 4 weeks.
So the other day paid the money out for the Bambu A1. They seem to have a very good after sales service, this time I checked that out.
As for the KE - it has the same main board as the SE all but and the K1 - these board are off the shelf and cheap, so might risk it for a biscuit and get one - if it works happy days, can’t see it not because Creality has a tendancy to use virtually all the same parts in the Enders.
Good luck with your problem - it seems the model is very flaky from one build to the next…
