Creality K1 Max wont extrude - NOT Clogged Nozzle

I was having poor exclusion problems and I had to replace the extruder assembly. When I removed the old assembly. I found there was a blue tube about three quarters of an inch long between the extruder and the frame in which the assembly fit. It appeared to be guiding the filament through from the extruding gears into the heated nozzle. The blue tube was not included in the new extruder assy. and the old one did not fit the new one. The hole was clearly not big enough. The extruder I purchased was supposed to be an upgrade so I thought that the tube was no longer required. When I reassembled it, it still sounded like the nozzle was clogged (clunking noise). I took the extruder out again and. I pulled enough filament through. To push into the hot nozzle manually and it extruded properly. When I reassembled it, it I still get the clunking noise as if the nozzle is still clogged. I’m getting ready to toss the whole machine.

the original K1 Max had a different extruder/hotend then those that are sold now, you may have one of those. Current ones have the Unicorn nozzles.

That sounds like the situation, but I only have the new extruder, not the Unicorn nozzle. Do you know if I can just replace my nozzle with the (newer model) nozzle to resolve the issue? How can I determine the difference between what came with my K1 and the Unicorn nozzle. I’m assuming they don’t call it Unicorn. This really sounds like the issue, thanks.

Looking at this online, I’ve answered my own questions. For future reference, I would say I bought half of the upgrade, the extruder, and not the 2nd half, the Unicorn nozzle. And it is listed on Amazon as the K1 Unicorn nozzle.

I haven’t done the repair yet, but looking at the unicorn nozzle, I’m confident it will resolve it. If it doesn’t I’ll be back.

Am I still missing a tart for this upgrade of extruder & Unicorn nozzle? I attempted to replace the old nozzle with the Unicorn and it wont go in, its hitting an obstruction near the height of the old nozzle. When I look down from the top (w/o extruder) I see a filament size hole.
