Morning, I have reviewed some of the other touch posts but thought I would throw this out.
Couple of months back I pound my printer printing about mid print and the touch probe was down and bent, like it had dropped and caught part of the print. Print finished without issue and I carefully bent the probe back to a “straight” position without removing the touch.
Worked great for a while longer, then it started to have issue with dropping the probe (it wouldnt drop) when it did its center measurement of the bed , a quick flick of the probe seemed to correct it and it would complete the remaining 25 bed measurements without incident.
Lately it has been having issues with dropping the probe on the bed measurements, it will drop it on the first 2 skip the 3rd do a couple more skip etc.
at the point now where I cant start a print because it will not successfully complete the bed leveling due to probe failure.
Should I be taking the touch apart and investigating the probe or is this an issue where I should just replace the touch and call it a day.
Appreciate the input.

Personally, I would replace it.
If it’s a genuine BL Touch, you should have received a replacement plastic probe but if you’re saying you bent back the probe then I suspect that it’s a clone with a metal probe. I don’t think you’ll ever get it straight again.
Sorry.
Yeah personally I would replace it, we do sell replacement heads if it is a genuine one, but if it is one of the clone ones I would probably suggest getting a genuine one anyways. They are definitely worth the money and perform much better than a lot of the clones do.
Yup replace it. If it is the real deal Antlabs they in my experience have good tech support and it is worth reaching out. They might replace it. If it is a clone, just buy the real deal, there is no meaningful support in almost every case.
Perfect , replacement is my preference just wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything I was overlooking.
It is a genuine bltouch. Stock on the printer when I purchased it.
Thanks very h
Thank you,
Problem solved, I had completely forgotten about the extra probe, haven’t looked in the spare parts box since I bought the printer. New pin has the printer working great once again.
Thanks very much for the insight.
I must not have been able to get all of the bend out, is was about 30degrees when I bent it back but there was still just enough to get it stuck on the decent periodically. Has been working like this for a good 8 months.
Thanks again.
