What ratio of detergent to water should I be using for cleaning Resin models on my Halot Mage Resin printer?
Are you talking about cleaning your models after printing? Are you using a water-washable resin or a standard one?
If you are using a standard resin, the best way to remove excess resin from your model is to use IPO. If you don’t have a washing machine, you can put IPO in a container and place your models in it for a few minutes.
But be careful. IPO is toxic. Also, don’t leave your models in IPO for a long time because it will dissolve not only the excess resin but the models itself. For small models, keep them in the IPO for 2 or 3 minutes. For large models, you can let them in the IPO for a longer time. The best way is to experiment. Remove the model from the IPO and take a look at it and see if the excess resin was washed away.
I don’t have experience with water-washable resins. Maybe someone in the forum will help you with that.
I am referring to washing the models after printing. I am using Jang He resin.
Do not use any sort of detergent when washing water washable resin, use the cleanest water you can possibly get. Usually I just go for distilled water because it is cheap and easily accessible.
For normal resin do not water down the IPA, you will want ideally a 95-99% concentration IPA for your wash. If you are using our model wash concentrate then the ideal dilution is 125ml of concentrate per 4L of water.
