As my mother used to say, putting “Fragile” on a package is interpreted as “Stomp on this”.
I would love to recycle my spools. However the shipping costs would be too high. If filament companies offered a return policy that covered costs you might see something happen but until then I think not.

Perhaps the bulk filament could be priced low enough that using a refillable spool?
I did qualify with ‘richest’…
Anyway, I do agree that we should be burning most of it for electrons.
