Here is a photo of a failed print on my k1Max. The arches break when they are getting longer. Any suggestions on how to complete the arches?
What is it?
It is a walkway about eight inches long and four inches wide. It has arches along its length
I don’t think it is the printer that is the problem but the design of the print. For a start you can reinforce the arches IE: make then thicker especially at top and wider if possible. Are you using support it should help hold the print together.
Is there an option on Orca Slicer to make a part of a model thicker?
I’m not a slicer expert so not sure. Maybe you can use a modifier to select the top of the part you want and scale it up??? Can you go to the original model and change it there?
A better photo would help.
Off the top of my head I’d suggest using arachne wall generator and he detect thin wall option. I don’t use Orca much but as these functions are in Prusaslicer and Orca is a version of PS I can only assume they are both in there someplace.
Supports most likely will be needed. It might be that there is under extrusion but the images make it hard to impossible to tell.
The picture is not the best. The archways are hollow. They are round and about 2mm diameter.
Did you download the model or draw it yourself?
If you don’t have the original model but have an STL file then you can probably import it into a CAD program and modify it. Most modern CAD programs will do that but the mods you make can be limited because you loose the original “history” and are stuck with a single block file. You can’t go back and do manipulate the part but you usually can add onto it were you need to.
