Hey everyone,
I’m willing to bet nobody has ever posted about a problem like this before
My ender 3 v2 had a long print, and at some point, the filament slipped out of the extruder and started bunching any which way… Which immediately stopped anything from extruding out. Here’s a picture, chances are it’ll be clearer than words:
This could have been caused by a few different things. A jam in the nozzle could of backed up the filament and caused it to jam. Filament could have broke entering the extruder and never made the correct path to the hotend which would cause a jam. Heat creep in the hotend could also jam this up also bad filament could have done this too.
I would advice in finding a direct drive mount for that extruder. There are many simple print out there for them that use all the stock hardware from the printer. I would always advice for direct drive as its a shorter filament path!!
I have been using this one for over a year now with no problems whatsoever
I would have thought that heat creep and nozzle jam were out: I’ve tried printing again just now and it worked absolutely fine, no blockage… So I suppose it could have been the filament snapping when entering the extruder, it’s true I haven’t installed some of those ender 3 arm thingies that hold out the filament, I just let it go straight from the roll to the extruder, so perhaps that’s the problem?
Didn’t know about those direct drive mounts, look interesting but I’ll have to find the right one for my ender 3 v2 as most seem to be designed for the ender 3 pro or other.
