my Creality Ender 3 V3 KE is under-extruding as revealed in the classic e-step test;
by about 3.5 %;
no worries , right ? i simply use the console options to find the existing e-step setting and adjust it there…
no go, those menu options do not appear in the places where the youtube ‘how-to’s’ indicate;
there are menu options under ‘adjust’ titled: “print flow rate”; it says 100% , but it is locked, cannot change it;
ok, i’ll just use slicer settings to introduce into the g-code;
so i set All the flow rate settings in Cura to 103.5 (%);
BUT i look at the g-code and i do not find any M221 instructions anywhere;
what gives ?
Sure i can add them myself but it poses the question “why didnt cura ‘slice’ do that for me ?”
and more broadly, what else might Cura be dropping in their settings ?
thoughts ?
thanks
Before you do anything. Has it always under extruded? If it just sort of happened it is quite likely the nozzle it partially clogged. I would start with extruding some filament if it is smooth and dropping straight then look to correcting the extrusion amount. If it is curling or running off to the side it is likely the nozzle itself.
You could try to clear it. Personally I’d just replace it unless it is a speciality one.
i appreciate the response; i too look for that nice linear extrusion and not much curly-cuing; and i do use filament cleaning filaments;
my issue at the moment seems to be i buy the newest printers and replacement nozzles arent all that easy to come by;
case in point; the new bamboo lab a1, their site show extra nozzles for sale but each time my attempt at that fails, ‘out-of-stock’ ; i wonder if they were ever IN stock…;
but i will adopt your approach of commoditizing the nozzles;
ESpecially with that A1 which boasts that quick hot-end-nozzle replacement system ( LONG overdue in this industry imo)
Did you check the usual Chinese sellers? They have lots of clone (maybe clone) parts for the P1S. The big names look like Shenzhen Technology Co., Ltd owns them Bambu (Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology Co., Ltd) it just seems like it’s too close a name. Maybe not but it is odd that so many parts are available that are exact copies but not for the Prusa Xl or E3D copy protected designs.
In cura a fast check could be extrusion multiplier and in Bambu studio the devise settings have I forgot the name they use a factor that is set where the filament type and color is set.
Did you run the filament calibration they have?
