This is the stand I made for inserting threaded inserts. There are dozens of these available on Thingaverse, Printables etc. so why make another. All the ones you can download require parts like extruded frames, wheels, bearings etc. All this needs , besides the printed parts, is some cord, and elastic band an a few nuts and bolts. Naturally it also needs a soldering iron with the insert bits.
It works quite well, the inserts go in straight anyway. The part that holds the soldering iron is detachable so a new one can be printed to fit a different iron. Soldering irons are between $15 and $35 (Amazon) depending on the model and heat output. Being able to use insert’s to bolt parts together is a really good addition to printing.
