I recently changed the hot end thermistor in my Ender3 v2. It was printing fine for a few prints, then it started raising the hot end temp for no reason. It would do the pre-heat for PLA to 190 C, then appeared to raise the temp to 210 which was set in Cura. However, once printing began, the hot end temp was over 230 even though the target temp was still showing 210. I checked the thermistor wires and they appear to be undamaged.
sounds like you need to PID tune it. when the filament starts taking the heat away as it prints the machine increases the heat may be too much to compensate
I’m not sure that’s the problem, as the temp jumps almost immediately after the print starts.
I’m going to check the thermistor just to make sure it hasn’t gone bad.
It could be hysteresis. The heater runs to the pre heat temps then when it starts the print it over shoots.
