How To Access Creality Printers Klipper Web Interface Without Rooting

Hi everyone, I recently made a discovery today that could be common knowledge but I have never really seen it anywhere so I figured it was worth a share. Until now I knew that you could access a cut down version of the klipper web UI from creality print or from orca if you connected it to the printers IP address. But I had never been able to successfully connect to the full klipper UI before without having to first root the machine.

This was a bit of a pain in the rear as I wanted to connect my machines to some klipper management apps I have installed on my phone but was never able to do so. Having access to the klipper UI also meant that I would be able to print over wifi from non-creality slicers such as orcaslicer or prusaslicer, which before was never an option. Having access to the web UI also gives me full access to everything klipper has to offer without having to root my machine and possibly cause damage or void warranty. A big one for me is to be able to view customers

In order to access the full klipper web UI all that you have to do is connect your printer to your network. On your computer ensure that you are connected to the same network and the go to whatever browser you prefer. In the search bar at the top type in the IP address of the printer, this is accessible from the printer screen under the network tab in settings. Then after the IP address of the machines you will want to put :4408. This is a port number assigned to all of the creality machines. Without the :4408 it will fail to load the page every time, but as soon as that port has been added in it connects instantly.

No joy here.

I could log into the regular net address for the printer but when I added :4408 it would not log in. I did make sure that the printer was connected to the net.

This would be great if I can get it to work.

Hmmm, let me look into this a little bit more and see what I can find out.

what if you try :4409?

:4408 is the port for fluidd and :4409 for mainsail. As far as I know the creality machines all come stock with fluidd but I could be wrong.

From testing the machines out in our storefront it seems that I have about a 50/50 shot of it working which is strange, I think I was just lucky and had all the ones I tried yesterday work properly. But I have had a bunch today that also will not allow any connection to klipper.

It seems that for sure all of the V3 and V3 Plus models will connect, but the rest of them seem to be a tossup which is odd. Not sure why…

Were all the printers on the same firmware version?

Maybe it is dependant on whether or not the “bind to creality cloud” step was skipped at setup…

@Davethegearhead Should all be on the same version, all are kept updated to the latest version as soon as it comes out.

All machines also skip the creality cloud binding stuff, we don’t use it at all here.
