How to collect car steering wheel models?

Hello everyone,Recently I took on a part-time project, mainly to do car decoration. Our newly developed product is to decorate car steering wheels, and we need to collect 3D models of various types of steering wheels.

Considering the problem of space limitations in the car, the scanning posture, angle and distance are not easy to master. I am considering whether my existing range2 can complete this task. Will the single-frame scanning range be too large? Do I need to buy a pop3 plus 3D scanner suitable for scanning medium-sized objects?

In addition, do you have any relevant tips for scanning car interiors? I look forward to your sharing. I really need it. Thank you.

The scanner you already have should probably be fine, best think you can do is go and test it out in your car. Scan the wheel and see what stuff jumps out at you as being a pain with the current scanner.

If you are looking for a new scanner if this one does not work out, a nice compact one that we offer is the Seal Lite, its a great scanner and the price is pretty reasonable for what you get. But try out the one you have first, no sense in buying something you don’t need.

For scanning car interiors most things are already matte, so you usually won’t really need to do much in terms of matte spray or anything like that. The one thing I would say would be to be careful of really harsh lights like the sun, maybe put one of those tinfoil sun blockers on the window of the car. Another thing is just to keep an eye on how the scan is going, with such complex shapes in the car you could very easily miss something, so just keep an eye on what needs to be scanned and what has already been scanned.
