I’ve had my Ender 3 Pro for a couple of years now, and I’ve always used the original SwissMicro hot end. I have an E3D V6 that I upgraded my previous printer with, and planned to install it on the Ender.
Yesterday, armed with the parts I had printed, I installed the E3D.
After I was was done, I fired it up and started it heating.
It heated fine up to 100C, then the heating rate slowed down, and a heater error around 115C.
I was disappointed, and had planned to reinstall the original today.
This morning at 4:30, I woke up to go to the washroom (the joys of getting older, amiright?), and, as I stumbled into the bathroom, a thought popped into my head: “You have to tune the PID routine for the hot end!”
I guess I had all the information I needed, I just hadn’t worked it out yet. My brain must’ve been thinking about it while I slept.
Funny how that works, isn’t it?
