I’ve had my K2 now for 3 weeks and had nothing but issues for the first 2 trying to print PetG which is the main filament I work with. Absolutely no issues with PLA…
I’ve been using the Bambu PS1 and the K1 Max with absolutely no issues with any of their settings.
I figured I would share this for anyone else having these issues.
On the K2, I would get error messages such as plugged nozzles, filament feed and excess blobs of filament. Doing a search I found out that many people recommended going back to the original firmware. Some went so far as to send their units back and get a replacement and prevent it from updating ( a bit extreme IMO).
So, I went back to the original firmware and it was better, but not perfect. I found one of the issues I was having was related to the black filament I was using, Spectrum Deep Black. It seemed that any other colors where not as extreme as the black.
After speaking to the team at 3D printing I tried their in house black and it was much better. I also made some changes to my PetG settings to further improve everything.
These are the settings I am currently using but I will be looking at reducing my nozzle temp.
Nozzle 265
Flow Ratio 0.9
Density 1.25
Plate 70
Volumetric speed 11
With these settings I can now print PetG with good results.
I did update the firmware and started getting all the feed and plugged nozzle issues so I am back to the original until Creality gets this fixed.
One thing I did notice was the nozzle temperature changes when the CFS switches filament. It drops 20C from the temp settings I put in. I wonder if this is why it’s having issues.
