Hello- I use an elegoo Neptune 3 Pro connected to my pc via USB cable as the microSD slot doesn’t seem to work, even with a compatible SD card. My issue is when I run the Elegoo Slicer software, it will not recognize my USB printer, and I do not know the settings for adding one manually. Assistance is appreciated. Also, if there is an alternative slicer software that I could use that would be a delight.
As always - Keep your filament dry and your nozzles warm!
Are we working on the assumption that there is a profile for your printer in the slicer software.
Accidentally deleted my post! Here’s a recap:
That is correct. ELEGOO SLICER version 1.5.0.7 (based on ORCA Slicer) shows no profiles, and only attempts to search for network printers. When I attempt to add a printer, it searches for a network printer automatically. Adding a printer manually requests network information such as hostname, connection method, access code, etc. There appears to be no option to search for USB001 ports where the printer actually is connected.
Addendum: When I load a new .3mf file, I am able to change the printer in the settings to the Elegoo model it has. However, I can only export the file as a .stl file to use with Elegoo Cura. I cannot print directly from Elegoo slicer to the printer.
I worked out a resolution for thisw issue - dump ELEGOO Slicer in favor of ORCA SLICER plus OCTOPRINT. Now I am working smoothly and can manage the print better on the fly if necessary. Another option, that i didn’t continue with, is using Repetier for printer hosting. Hope this helps someone with USB printing, especially with legacy printers.
