PLA spool wound too tight

Currently have and Ender v3 ke setup with the side mount for the filament spool. I have one spool of filament that seems to be wound too tight and causes multiple failed prints. The failed prints are shifted on the print bed or the filament snaps, stopping the print.

I know my problems are specific to this spool but do not want to throw it out. Would changing the orientation of the spool be less likely to be affected by how tightly it is wound?

Any options welcome.

Thanks,

I’d say your only option is to try it and see. Is it just tight or is the filament “tangled”.

I keep a few empty spools for this type of thing (I’ve experienced tight spools twice). I really need to invest in a spool jig, but have managed to re-spool by hand. BIG difference.
