Printing miniatures using Halot Mage

I don’t ant to print miniature figurines for wargaming. How to I get fine details in faces? I find that the faces look smooth and not well defined. Features like eyes, mouth, nose are not coming out for 25mm - 32mm figures.

Can the Halot Mage print very fine facial features on tabletop wargaming miniatures?

I am not a resin printer. I don’t own or use one. However I have been looking at reviews and such. look at the anti aliasing functions, it might be the cause of loss of detail.

Here is the first article on google.

I want to print this level of detail on my Halot mage

I’ve had a similar issue when printing 28mm miniatures, especially around the facial features. The Halot Mage can produce sharp results, but you need to fine-tune a few settings. Reducing the layer height to around 0.02mm and adjusting exposure times for your specific resin can make a big difference. Anti-aliasing is useful for smoothing surfaces, but it sometimes causes smaller details such as eyes and lips to blur, so try experimenting with lower levels or even turning it off.

Another thing worth noting is that not all resins capture fine definition equally. Some high-detail resins are designed specifically for miniatures, and switching to one of those may solve the issue without changing much else.

If you’re also into painting or displaying your finished prints, Camp Hollow has some inspiring miniature-scale designs on their website that show how much detail can actually be achieved when the settings and materials are dialed in correctly. It’s a good reminder that the printer is capable, but setup and resin choice really decide the outcome.

Hi Nick, I believe that the Halot Mage can handle miniatures well with its 8k screen.
