Project Lubrication

What is the best lubricant to use to keep printed projects to keep moving smoothly? Using PLA and PLA+ Filament. Like Cogs, sliding beams and anywhere there is some sort of friction.

For pla I think maybe a dry lubricant would be the way to go. All the big box stores carry some form of it mostly in a spray can though. Maybe look for one compatible with plastic.

I’ve used white lithium grease (check to make sure its a plastic safe one) with success.

I use PTFE lubricant, it seems to work well. Super Lube its what comes with some 3d printers so its on hand often.

I have had luck in the past with using dry lubricants like graphite. These are cheap and easily accessible (I even just rubbed a pencil on my print once when I had run out haha). I have always found that a little goes a long way, and its always easier to add a little more than try and remove it.

Hope this helps!

For screw drives I use silicon grease, it was recommended by someone here.
