Hi all! I am looking to buy an extra hot end and nozzle for my P1S - just in case something happens to the original. (also want to get a different size nozzle and I hear its easier to swap out if I just get the hot end and nozzle together). I also have a FlashForge 5M Pro and loved how you cloud just switch out the nozzle with a few simple clips. It seems like the Bambu P1S is much more involved to switch out. Any suggestions on what I should get? I want to get a backup .4 nozzle and a .6 nozzle with hot end…. Just want to make sure I am getting what I need, as with FF it was all in one!
Hi @Bobbi1977 I have a couple of P1S here. with just the nozzle change you have to switch back the heater and thermistor. If you get the ensure hot end assembly, the changeout is only 2 screws, Heater and thirm is already installed along with the fan. Makes the changeover about 2 mins total.
Ok thanks. I want quick and easy. Guess I’ll buy the whole thing. Much appreciated.
Not an issue, Here are the links to make it easier to find for you. Just make sure you get whatever size you want, Bambu does offer options.
Plain nozzle only - Bambu Lab Hotend Assembly for X1,X1C,P1P,P1S - 3D Printing Canada
Full Nozzle (2 min install) - Bambu Lab Complete Hotend Assembly for P1S/P1P - 3D Printing Canada
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it!
personally I would ge a complete hot end. it is faster to swap. I found the thermistor delicate and changing it out can break it if not careful. When you are in a hurry or trying o get something done is not a good time moving all the parts to a new hot end. I swap then at leisure do he work of changing out the electrical parts.
Thank you!! That’s my plan! I don’t know why swapping this one out is intimidating me so much
Follow the Wiki online their instructions are really good. If you have an earlier style hot end just be carefull with the connectors, you can install them 1 pin off, Its pretty easy… Ask me how I know.
Slow and carefull, use a good overhead light helps alot
don’t be in some ways it is easier. No pre heating no tork just two little screws and two connectors. easy. the spare just allows if you want to change it you can take your time and still not lose production time.
It’s funny. It still overwhelms me as I haven’t done it before. That’s one thing I like FlashForge for. It’s one piece. Click on and go.
