Respooling 2.5kg value PLA

Hi everyone, I bought a few rolls of the 2.5 kg value PLA and was wondering if anyone has tried respooling them into smaller rolls. They don’t fit into my dry boxes and most spool holders.

Hi there,

This is possible, easiest way to do it is to print out one of the filament respoolers. You can find lots of these on printables/thingiverse.

Thanks Matthew, that’s a great suggestion. I was going to do it by hand but now that I think about it, it might take longer than I initially thought

Yeah these are definitely easier than doing it by hand, every time I do it by hand I always end up letting go of the spool and accidentally tangling everything up! This does it in a tenth of the time with much greater accuracy.
