Hey anyone know how to make a purge item the same layer height when using adaptive layer height? I like to use purge objects when doing colour printing but the slicer asks me to match the layer height of the purge object to the stuff I’m printing and I don’t know how.
It should do it automatically.
When you are in the Preview tab open the color scheme dropdown and select ‘Layer Height’ and it will show you a range of colors based on the layer height.
As you can see all the differences in the layers have been transferred to the purge tower.
If it’s not giving you the same results let me know and we can investigate further!

Oh not the prime tower, say I’m doing like one figure that I set variable layer height to. I then use a fidget screw to purge into, it doesn’t automatically set the screw to the same as the figure with variable layer height
Ahh I understand now, sorry about that!
I did some messing around with it this morning and it seems almost like it is a one way or the other kind of thing. You can set both of them to have the same variable layer height by selecting both of them and then right clicking and selecting ‘assemble’. This will turn them into 1 part of 2 pieces so any changes that are made are applied universally.
The problem is that once you are applying changes universally you loose the ability to purge to one as infill and not the other. AFAIK there is no way to do this with the current slicer abilities of Orca/Bambu, I am not sure about if others would support these features or not. Could be worth suggesting to the devs of the slicers

Ha well if there was a way I guess there would be an answer, thanks for looking I guess it’s back to copy and paste and purge into identical objects for me
