Yes, your drivers are missing from the board, You will need to buy 1 driver for each axis motor you want to drive.
They will plug in down the left side of your pic. Ensure you power off the printer before you install them and triple-check the orientation before you power it up. If they are backward you will pop the driver, Board or both.
You may have misunderstood, I think the basic firmware is built into the board not the steppers. On these styles of boards, the drivers are always additional.
I ASSumed the there were Basic drivers Installed and the plugs were for Upgrading.
Couldn’t read anything (on the Amazon page) that indicated the board needed them… Or not lol
Thank You!!!
I have 5 A4988 drivers coming Saturday.
Do I need to edit the firmware?
I would assume on some level you will have to build new firmware, At least to set the bed size and max temp parameters, The basic firmware that comes on it is just to allow you to test base functionality, End stops, Heaters and the such. Mechanics are going to be unique for almost every printer. Ender 3 and Ender 5 are very different-looking printers. Ender 3 is a rep-rap cartesian and 5 is a cartesian. However, their firmware is almost exactly the same except for the fact the Z axis is backward on the 5 and forwards on the 3.
Not sure if I have to identify the stepper drivers in the firmware
I’m upgrading to dual extruder/large bed 220X300X240mm… I’m Hoping!!!
I have the large bed plate (200X280) plate is 220X280, I have a glass plate is 220X300.
I measured how high the Z axis goes Without binding, 240 Should work!
I just have to figure Where to edit the firmware and Ultimate Cura so I can use the Full surface area of the bed (glass). I Know I can’t use Every mm, but close!
Have the Y and the Z figured, Not sure what to set X offset to.
I have done 2 dual colours, but with X reduced to less then 200mm.
Cura shows a shadow of unusable bed no matter how I size it.
