Temp Settings for Ender 3

I would level on a hot bed, It will be more accurate.

Thanks Jason, I have levelled the bed and want to do my 1st test print. I downloaded the files from CHEP website but I don’t know which file prints the test squares? See attached photo of the files.

I would think its the second one on your list. The first one is the raw STL file in case you want to test your own settings, The others are ones that CHEP has already sliced for you.

Although MR Hellibuck is a reliable source for Gcode files I would never recommend running Gcode files you download from the internet. As long as you are confident in the source you can run the files.

There are no Shelf checks or balances once they are in Gcode format. I did have a customer printer in the shop at one time, 2 times he tried to print the same Gcode file and it fried his mainboard. When I looked at the file It had a command in there to set the Amperage to the X-axis to 10000Ma. Basically 10 Amp. Although it would never get there the power spike from it was enough to fry the Stepper driver twice.

Omg! Is there somewhere i can safely download?

Where can i get more test prints for the ender 3?

My first on my Ender 3 really pleased with it!

there are a ton of them out there, Downloading the STL files is fine, you create the gcode yourself, Which is zero risk, Don’t get scared by it, It’s more of a best practice that’s all.

Download and slice the STL files and only download Gcode files from trusted people.

If you dig around in your slicer some have calibration models built in.
If you really want to get to know your printer and have some fun with it while understanding exactly what is going on with it, Run through the Michaels Calibration page on GitHub.

That guy knows how to present some pretty technical information.

Looks great,

So glad you were able to get it going!

Happy printing,
Matthew

Thanks all for your help!
