What type of lubricant too use

What lubricant should I use for lead screws and bearings. Also do the motors need any dry lubricant such as graphite

I applied a little white lithium grease to the entire length of the leadscrew, then worked the gantry up and down a few times. Leadscrew turns extremely smoothly. Almost too smoothly, as it barely holds the gantry up when the power is off.

Silicon grease is also used.

I use “WD-40 High Performance White Lithium Grease” for linear rails and optical rods. Nice stuff, doesn’t collect dust or animal fur like other materials.

For leadscrews, I use a light machine oil (just a drop or two below the nut and run it up and down). Don’t overdo it.
