What type of paint can I use on my prints

I get asked a lot about what type of paints can be used on 3D prints.
If I’m going to paint the entire piece, I use Krylon primer for plastic, then depending on colours and detail, it will be either Krylon spray paint or acrylic airbrush paint.
If it’s just tiny spots, I will use some enamel or even some nail polish.
The dragon door knocker was printed with a value white pla, primed, airbrushed then clear coated.

I’ve had good luck with cheap acrylic paint as well as Krylon and Rust Oleum spray cans. I usually top things off with a semi gloss clear coat as well
